Kaatuneista oli punaisia noin 3 600 ja valkoisia 3 200.<\/p>\n<p>Lukum\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4t ovat vain suuntaa antavia, koska kansalaissodalle tyypilliseen tapaan kummallakin puolella ammuttiin vankeja heti antautumisen yhteydess\u00e4.<\/p>\n<p>Punakaartilaisia haavoittui arvioiden mukaan noin 10 000-12 000 henkil\u00f6\u00e4.. My\u00f6sk\u00e4\u00e4n valkoisista haavoittuneista ei ole tarkkaa lukum\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4. Saksalaisten tappiot olivat sotatoimissa noin 300 kaatunutta ja l\u00e4hes 700 haavoittunutta. My\u00f6s ven\u00e4l\u00e4isten tappiot olivat suuria, sill\u00e4 sis\u00e4llissodan k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n mukaisesti taistelutoiminnassa mukana olleet ja vangiksi joutuneet ven\u00e4l\u00e4iset ammuttiin usein v\u00e4litt\u00f6m\u00e4sti.<\/p>\n<p>Varsinaisten sotatoimien yhteydess\u00e4 aiheutuneet uhrit olivat vain osa vapaussota-kansalaissodan aiheuttamista k\u00e4rsimyksist\u00e4. Punainen ja valkoinen terrori, vankileirien puutteelliset olot sek\u00e4 sodan j\u00e4lkeen toimeenpannut teloitukset aiheuttivat sen, ett\u00e4 sodassa ja sen seurauksena kuoli kaikkiaan l\u00e4hes 30 000 ihmist\u00e4.<\/p>\n<p>Punaisten puolella menehtyi noin 24 500 ja valkoisten puolella 4 900 henkil\u00f6\u00e4. Eniten tappiot kohdistuivat punaisen armeijan ty\u00f6v\u00e4est\u00f6\u00f6n ja valkoisen armeijan talonpoikiin sek\u00e4 virkamiehiin ja opiskelijoihin. Sodassa ja sen seurauksena suomalaiset olivat joutuneet kokemaan suuria menetyksi\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4 oli pienelle kansalle kohtuuttoman suuri uhri itsen\u00e4istymistaistelun yhteydess\u00e4.
